Toshi Takahama was born at the very beginning of the twentieth century. The husband is a businessman and four children are exactly what she needed for family happiness. The peace and joy of family life continued until World War II. In 1943, her husband died of pneumonia, and cares of children and family fell on Toshi. Only her favorite business, origami classes, allowed her to overcome all difficulties and maintain optimism.
In many countries, origami art lovers know Mrs. Takahama, read the books she has written about this work, fold the figurines she invented. In 1967, she organized a group called “Sosaki Ogigami Group”, where her followers and fans continued her work.
