- Sewing needles of medium length with a long sharp end. They are universal in their purpose.
2. Embroidery needles with a large eyelet and a long, pointed end.
3. Short sewing needles with a round eyelet – for small stitches but thick fabrics.
4. “Hat” needles of great length with a round eyelet. These needles are convenient to sweep parts or lay a line for assemblies.
The choice of needle depends on the thickness of the material from which the product is sewn, thread, and also on the type of the seam being laid – a simple “needle forward” used for sweeping parts, some kind of decorative, etc. The needle should freely, without additional efforts, pass through fabric, otherwise work will be done carelessly.
For example, a thick needle damages the thread of the fabric, leaving holes. In addition, the seam laid by a poorly matched needle is uneven. To imperceptibly sew the details of blanks, modules, among themselves or fasten them on the base, choose short and thin needles. For robots with dense materials, when embroidering, finishing products use long needles with a large eye.
For sweeping parts of products, as a rule, use simple cotton threads, better – color, contrasting fabric. For decorative seams, silk, floss, wool, etc. are also used.
